Now, with the release of their debut LP, Get Weak, the band has proven that not only can they produce heavy-hitting, hook-filled singles, but that their softer, dreamier soundscapes leave just as much of an impression.
Recorded in Brooklyn and mastered by Will Yip (Turnstile, Superheaven), Glimmer’s new album seamlessly transitions from pop-leaning singles like “Dissolve” and “Sorrow Again” to propulsive, fuzzed-out alt-rock anthems (“Been Down”) and hazy, etherial ballads (“Bloom.”) With elements of grunge, shoegaze, and dream pop, the album hits on a certain ‘90s nostalgia while still managing to sound fresh and modern.
